Lara Bruni delivers an incredible balance of romance and suspense in this small-town mystery. Kate, a strong and determined author, is ready for a fresh start, but her past refuses to stay buried. Noah, the protective and skilled contractor, is completely smitten with her. The mystery kept me hooked, and the slow-burn romance had my heart racing. Though I usually struggle with third-person POV, Bruni’s writing is clear, engaging, and easy to follow. The side stories add depth, and the fast-paced suspense kept me on edge. A fantastic read—I can’t wait for the next book!

I liked how there were multiple stories happening but the focus was on the main character and done so that the reader was not confused about who is who. This book was romantic with charming characters and a scary character and spooky background story. This is great for people who like romantic suspense.
